Did you know that Kiev Pechersk Lavra was included to UNESCO world heritage list? You will ask why? It is a unique and picturesque Kiev monastery complex. Every year more than 45 millions of tourists from different countries of the world visit Kiev Pechersk Lavra. Lavra is known by its churches, caves with ancient crypts, museums. There are indeed dozens of mummies to be found in the Lavra catacombs.
Lavra Caves contain 125 burials of many famous saints including the hollows of Wonder-Worker Moses.
To the north of the cathedral is the Historical Treasures Museum, devoted mainly to artefacts and precious stones and metals from Ukraine. The highlight is the display of Scythian goldwork from the 4th century BC. There\'s also a 12th century model of Kiev and exhibits of richly ornamented goblets, crosses, chalices and icons by Ukrainian, Russian, Polish and Lithuanian masters.
